Through Your National Chess Federation (Recommended)
Most national chess federations issue FIDE IDs either for free or for a small fee, typically within a few days. You’ll need to submit your passport and a photo ID as part of the process. This is a one-time registration, and your FIDE ID will remain valid for life.
- To find your federation’s email address.
- Visit: FIDE Member Federations Directory
- Alternatively, you can contact the rating officer of your national federation and request your FIDE ID.
For Filipino Citizens

2. Once you receive your NCFP ID, email the federation at ncfpevent@gmail.com to request your FIDE ID
For Indian Citizens
1. Register for an AICF ID (National ID) by filling out this form.
2. Once you receive your AICF ID, email the federation at indianchessfed@gmail.com to request your FIDE ID.

If you prefer, you can obtain a FIDE ID directly through the FIDE Arena.
Follow the steps from FIDE Arena chessarena.com.
- The cost is approximately €25 and will take 3-5 days.
- With this method, you will play under the FIDE flag instead of a national federation.
- A yearly renewal is required for this.
